BLAD (Bovine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency)

BLAD (Bovine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency) is a congenital pathology of genetic origin that leads to death of calves due to the lack of an enzyme, responsible for making the antibodies adhere to the antigens. Calves with BLAD are practically antibody free, and die from trivial gastrointestinal and, or, respiratory infections. All bulls that have BLAD-bearing animals among their ancestors (bulls with the suffix BL) must be tested because, if they cannot be used for F.A. The test is done via DNA. The test for the young bulls destined for the ANAFI Genetic Center will be carried out by our veterinarians during the preliminary visit, the sending of the samples must however be agreed with the C.G. The samples taken must be accompanied by the transport document addressed to:

L.G.S. Laboratorio di Genetica e Servizi Società Cooperativa Sede: Via Bergamo, 292 - 26100 Cremona

The cost of the test is € 69.00 for members.
The cost will be invoiced directly by LGS to the applicant.
