Congenital Achondroplasia (Bull Dog)

Achondroplasia is a hereditary congenital alteration of skeletal development that affects Friesian cattle, calves affected by achondroplasia are born with the bones of the limbs that remain short, and the bones of the skull flattened (crushed muzzle) from which the name Bull- Dog (BD). All the bulls that have among their ascendants the bull "Igale Masc BD" serial number F. 93050102 "known bearer of the Bull-Dog character must be tested because, if carriers, they cannot be used for F.A. The test is done via DNA. It is essential to have the DNA of both the young bull and the mother. The test for the young bulls destined for the ANAFI Genetic Center will be carried out by our veterinarians during the preliminary visit, the sending of the samples must however be agreed with the C.G. The initials BD are applied to the tested subjects; the abbreviation BT is applied to tested non-carriers. The samples taken must be accompanied by the transport document addressed to:

ANAFI - VIA BERGAMO, 292 – 26100 CREMONA.

The cost of the test is € 82.50 for each young bull tested.
