Bianconero is the official magazine of the National Holstein Breeders Association and is the only monthly magazine specialized in dairy breeding.  Our readers are dairy farmers, technicians, animal husbandry experts, veterinarians, cattle dealers, feed companies personnel, AI studs, Agricultural Colleges and Universities, Embassies, National and foreign Breeders Associations,  trade & fairs organizations, Agricultural and Health ministries and councillorships.
The magazine was founded in April 1946 as the voice of what was then called “Associazione della Pezzata Nera” (Black and White Association), that was moving its first steps as an organization, and was directed by Dr. Giulio Sandri. In the years the magazine has undertaken major changes and improvements, under the direction first of  Dr. Arrigo Bianchini and then, for 23 years, of Ing. Giancarlo Lanari.
Today the director of Bianconero  is Dr. Maurizio Garlappi, who is also the President of the Association.
Bianconero is mailed to the subscribers either privately or by means of the Provincial Associations of Breeders. 
The subscription to Bianco Nero entitles to 11 issues at an yearly cost of 30 Euros if mailed in Italy and 60 Euros if mailed abroad.

The editorial program of  Bianconero focus on the Holstein dairy industry, both for what concerns productive and reproductive management, and  also on the activities  of the Association.
The main features in the magazine are: Bulls evaluations, cows evaluations (best producing cows, best index cows for PFT, cows scored Excellent), young bulls coming out of the Genetic Center and assigned to progeny testing, reports on Italian Holstein herds, agenda of the main dairy events, calendar with the dates for the young bulls to enter into the Genetic Center, economic report on the dairy production, a veterinary point of view on herds management,  a space dedicated to the breeders’ organizations, overviews on the best dairy managing techniques  in the world,  initiatives to improve fertility and stillbirths.
