C.V.M. (Complex Vertebral Malformation)

This malformation involves the birth of premature calves with a spinal column deviated in the cervical and thoracic tract, arthrifugal, joint defects in the distal part of all four limbs, heart defects and defects in the abdominal region. The test is performed by a Dutch laboratory through L.G.S., on a DNA sample. For the bulls of the Genetic Center, the test will be carried out by our Veterinarians during the preliminary visit. The breeders who want to test their animals will have to request it from the APA / ARA, which will have to carry out the sampling of the hair bulb, correctly identifying the subject. The material must be sent to the ANAFI Genetic Center, with the transport document of the person making the payment, with the recipient: L.G.S. Genetics and Services Laboratory: Via Bergamo, 292 - 26100 Cremona reason: CVM test description: envelope with the bovine serial number. The cost of the test is € 63.00 + VAT. Sending the samples must in any case be agreed with the Genetic Center. The letters "CV" will be applied to the tested subjects. The letters "TV" will be applied to the non-carriers tested subjects. NB: The test for syndactylism is performed by genetic markers and not individually on the subject to be tested, therefore we advise interested parties to contact the Genetic Center.
